oxfordimproving air quality in oxford

There are a number of streets in Oxford city centre where air pollution levels exceed national targets. Air pollution in Oxford is caused almost entirely by motor traffic, so solving the problem will be largely a matter of improving management of traffic in the city centre.

We’re working together with Oxford City Council to put together an action plan to tackle Oxford’s air quality problem. The measures in the action plan won’t solve the problem overnight, but we expect them to improve the situation significantly. In conjunction with the City Council, we’ve published a leaflet which gives details of the proposed action plan, which is available at http://www.oxford.gov.uk/services/air-quality-action-plan.cfm. Alternatively, get in touch with us using the contact details on the back of this leaflet if you’d like a copy.
